AGIOS IOANNIS BEACH 

The sea almost on your doorstep 

Just an 8-minute walk from our Villa Irini Ocean View holiday apartment lies the beautiful Agios Ioannis Beach. Crystal-clear water, wide-open views across the Ionian Sea and the characteristic windmills make it one of the most special places on Lefkada.

Whether for a morning swim, a relaxing day at the beach or a walk at sunset - this is where the island feeling begins practically right on our doorstep. Tavernas and beach bars can also be found along the beach. 

LEFKADA-TOWN 

Greek life close by

Just a few minutes by car from Villa Irini Ocean View lies Lefkada Town. Small streets, traditional tavernas, cafés, boutiques and the lively harbour make the island capital a wonderful place for a relaxing afternoon or evening.

It is especially nice to stroll through the old town, walk along the harbour and end the evening with Greek food and a glass of wine.

FANEROMENI 

A special place above Lefkada 

High above Lefkada Town lies the Monastery of Faneromeni, one of the island’s best-known and most traditional places. In addition to its special atmosphere, a visit is especially worthwhile because of the beautiful panoramic view over Lefkada, the lagoon and the Ionian Sea. 

From Villa Irini Ocean View, the monastery can be reached in just a few minutes – perfect for a short excursion that can easily be combined with Lefkada Town or Agios Ioannis. 

LEFKADA’S DREAM BEACHES

Lefkada’s west coast is famous for some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. Steep white cliffs, bright turquoise-blue water and impressive coastal landscapes make every excursion a special experience. 

Porto Katsiki and Egremni are among the island’s best-known beaches - but many more bays and favourite spots are waiting to be discovered along the west coast. 

From our Villa Irini Ocean View holiday apartment on Lefkada, the beaches of the west coast can easily be explored by car.

NYDRI & THE WATERFALLS 

Discover Lefkada’s green side

Lefkada hat weit mehr zu bieten als traumhafte Strände. In der Nähe von Nydri (Nidri) führt ein schöner Spaziergang durch die grüne Landschaft zu den Dimosari-Wasserfällen – ein wunderbares Ziel, um für ein paar Stunden eine ganz andere Seite der Insel kennenzulernen.

Auch Nydri selbst lohnt einen Besuch: Die lebhafte Uferpromenade, kleine Geschäfte, Tavernen und der Blick auf die vorgelagerten Inseln machen den Ort zu einem beliebten Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge und Bootstouren.

GETTING TO LEFKADA

Easier to reach than you might think 

Lefkada is directly connected to the Greek mainland by a bridge – so no ferry crossing is necessary.

The nearest airport is Aktion/Preveza (PVK), only about 30 minutes away by car. During the summer season, there are numerous direct flights to Preveza. 

Outside the season, travelling via Athens or Thessaloniki is a good option. From there, you can easily continue to Lefkada by rental car.
